Be blown away by the Gold Coast’s first UFC Gym in Ashmore. Catering to a huge market, from the bodybuilding community to functional training, mixed martial arts and more, this space needed to have it all.
“When members sign up, seeing the high quality of equipment that we have has made it an easier sell; in terms of them wanting to be in a facility, once they see the equipment, it's just one of those places they just want to train in.” - Steve and Adil, Owners
Challenge
“Designing a gym that adequately caters to the needs of so many different fight styles of training (fight-style, Brazillian jujitsu, BJJ, boxing, etc) along with equipment meant there was a bit of a challenge in the arrangement of the gym. “Bringing in more equipment will be our next step. We want to scale these gyms up, and bring in a whole lot more equipment, taking the layout to a whole new level; so there’d be an entire fight facility with a whole side of weights, cardio and all your other styles of equipment. We're looking at expanding all through Queensland with even larger gyms and, therefore, a lot more Life Fitness equipment.”
Solution
“Life Fitness helped out with all the planning of where to put the equipment, and how to arrange the gym to work best, between the boxing, BJJ and how to fit in all the general-purpose fitness equipment as well.” “The equipment that we chose was based around our general fitness bodybuilders and then anything that would work in terms of strength and conditioning to help the fight-style fitness guys as well. To cater for the needs of our boxers, those who do Brazilian jujitsu and then all those who do functional fitness, we picked the equipment that we knew would best suit them. We chose a lot of power racks, Smith machines, the jungle, a lot of Hammer Strength and plate-loaded equipment as well as your pin-loaded equipment, and the dumbbells go all the way up to 60kg.”
Result
“With regards to the Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment, it’s definitely designed and engineered to help improve fight-style fitness, as well as functional-style fitness. They're designed to go higher reps and actually load the muscle in a way that it's going to fatigue it but not hurt you. They definitely benefit our gym, for sure.”
