The Gold Coast Performance Centre is a world-class sporting facility offering accommodation for sporting teams, a swimming pool, a 400 metre running track, a 200 square metre gym, and outdoor training facility.
“From the moment we worked with Life Fitness – from picking the pieces of equipment, to the install – was fantastic. They have 24-hour servicing, which is absolutely unreal. So, if something is not working or we're having a minor fault, within 24 hours they're generally out here and they'll fix that issue, which is what you need for a commercial gym.”
“Life Fitness are really great to work with. They understood our demographic. They understand our niche environment, with sporting teams as well as young, old and middle-aged people; so they really helped us piece together some of the newer equipment available, to service some of those high-end sporting teams, while maintaining a really good environment so the everyday person who walks through the door can also start their fitness journey.”
“We're very happy with Life Fitness it's a huge asset to the centre and we're stoked we are with them. It’s fantastic.” - Matthew, Sports Operations Manager
Challenge
This unique fitness centre had an opportunity to refurbish and upgrade the facility and its offerings.
Solution
To ensure training continuity, brand recognition and aesthetic cohesion for members, equipment from Life Fitness and Hammer Strength were added as part of the refurbishment. This choice also enabled the Centre to offer equipment that caters to the vast variances in member demographic, which includes sporting teams and serious athletes, as well as fitness enthusiasts of all ages and fitness levels. The Gold Coast Performance Centre also like the fact they can offer equipment that caters to the specific health needs of their demographic. For example, “Hammer Strength have come out with a new range of plate-loaded equipment such as the belt squat, which is fantastic. Essentially, the belt squat takes a load out of your spine. So, for those who have lower back pain or suffering from an injury, they're still able to target that part in their training while reducing the load on their body. I think that's a great way to go for the future. We're spending a lot more time in a seated environment so aches and pains seem to be coming up a lot more regularly. For the general public, equipment that focuses on those areas is fantastic.”
Result
“We've had lots of positive feedback from the members this time around. They're loving the look of it. They're very happy with the choice of the equipment that we have, as well as the few changes that we've made with the new pieces.”
